#MSS2011 Final dinner and partayyy time! – Day 4 (Part 4)

Tik-tok. Tik-tok. Riiiiinnnngggggggg!!

So it’s already 6pm and both Suzan and I was already asleep when the alarm blared next to my ear. I dragged myself out of bed, feeling a little tired and knowing in my bones that by tonight, I am going to have a fever. Ahh.. Not only we pick up new friends in MSS, we also pick up virus from some of those sick friends.

I decided to just freshen up a bit. I have no mood for a long shower. My body was already feeling cold and then hot and cold again. Took out the iron and ironing board (there is iron, ironing board and safety deposit box in the closet) and ironed the top I want to wear. I actually thought of wearing another vintage suit but changed my mind last minute since I have no mood.

Right after getting done, Suzan and I went to the lobby at 6.40pm and found less than a handful bloggers there. At first, I thought Suzan and I were late but apparently we’re not. Like I said in one of my posts before, we can’t seem to be on time. One by one other bloggers arrive, Pam and Olivya looking extra glam with sparkly eye makeup. Everybody was looking gorgeous and ready to eat. By 7pm, even though there were some who haven’t arrive yet, Amelia walked us to  The Mix. The dinner was held at the top floor of The Mix.

"Sagina & Mr. Fazly"

We mingled, took photos, had dinner, listened to Amelia, Sagina and also get to meet Mr. Fazly Razally; Events & Marketing Manager of Tourism Selangor who came directly to The Mix from Langkawi. Mr. Fazly spoke about the importance of social media, being IT competent and how Dian even influenced him to buy an iPad!

After dinner and more photo session, it was time for some music. The Mix hosts live music from 9.30pm onwards on the Ground Floor. It’s a pub and there are alcohol, live music, dance floor and it only requires some people to bring the roof down.

Honestly, I am not a clubbing girl. Though usually people take one look at me and think I’ve been in all clubs in the country (*weird*). I had some acquaintance who was talking about dancing one day and suddenly asked me, “how many times do you go to the club in a month?” but when I answered I never been to a club before (except for blogging events), they look at me like I’ve grown hairs out of my ears. Part of the reason why I don’t like the idea of clubbing is the alcohols. I can’t stand the smell. I also can’t stand smoke in clubs, it irritates my eyes. If you ask anybody at The Mix that night, they’ll say my eyes were bloodshot. I look like somebody who just smoked weed.

When the music started, Feeq, Zaid and myself went downstairs to enjoy the music. We picked the table right in front of the stage – for photography purposes. Then, the others followed down too and before we know it, everybody was milling about at the Ground Floor of The Mix. Even Mr. Fazly was there to mix with the crowd. At first all I did was clap my hand and sway to the beat but eventually the music was just too good to sit still. So, when Dian and some others started dancing, I joined in too.

I wished the night wouldn’t end. I didn’t even mind the itch in my eyes or that my sore throat is getting worse from drinking cold Coke. I knew by tomorrow I am going to fall sick big time but I just felt fantastic tonight and sad at the same time that this is going to be our last night together. It was a bittersweet situation.

And OMG, I hardly do this with cute guys but I even went up to the super-cute Leslie (lead singer of band Zynchro) to ask for a photo op. I can’t believe I was brave enough (and seemed cool enough) to go to him! MSS2011 has really changed me! Zynchro is a fabulous band from Philippines and they’ve got very good vocals. If you want to listen to good music at a laid-back place, do drop by The Mix one of these days.

That wasn’t all. Amelia celebrates her “early” birthday that night too. We sang Happy Birthday to her at around 11pm and then we bully her into singing on-stage (hope nobody’s marks get cut off from this). But by the end of it, she got her birthday cake and the flaming vodka (it was vodka right?). After that, it was time to go to sleep. Although Zynchro would be back for the third and last session but we were too tired to stay. Today had been a tiring yet galvanizing day.

I just hope I don’t fall into a deep coma tonight.
