Asgard
Imagine living within the 9 circles of the realm in Asgard, where the Gods live – the center of the realm – and people of the Earth had worshiped since the olden days. Imagine then that one of this Gods is stubborn, hard-headed and likes to challenge authority. One day, he made one mistake and his arrogance gave reason for his father to exile him into another realm – Earth.
Oh the ripped body below you don’t have to imagine. He seriously look like that.

Yummeh!
The fella with the yummy bod is Thor, Son of Odin (Chris Hemsworth). His father is Odin Allfather (Anthony Hopkins). Odin Allfather is King in Asgard. Thor has a brother, Loki (Tom Hiddleston) who is dark haired and look nothing like him or his father or his mother – you can guess what that means. Thor is just a young hot-blooded fella who wanted nothing but to prove himself to his father. The only problem is that he did it the wrong way and that made his father angry. Put that with Thor’s defiance, so one God is stripped off his powers, cast off to Earth along with his mighty hammer.

But on this planet is where Thor learned a lesson or two about love and humanity (oh yeah, we’re big on that). The Feds came in too, strutting in their Man In Black costumes and acting like they own the place. Love Thor’s best friends – Sif (Jaimie Alexander), Volstagg (Ray Stevenson), Fandral (Josh Dallas) and Hogun (Tadanobu Asano) – for being there for him. Love the funny parts too. Where else can you get comedy in an action movie if not on Earth?
Love the part when Thor was at the hospital shoving everybody out of his way effortlessly while screaming, “You dare attack the son of Odin?” and less than a minute later he got a shot on his bum and immediately fell asleep.

The CGI is not bad at all. I was so busy being entranced by the storyline, the funny scenes here and there and the architecture of Asgard that there’s nothing for me to complain. Even if you’ve never read about Thor, or the Marvel comics on him, I’m sure you would enjoy this movie like I did. Oh, since I was watching it in 3D, my eyes had to focus more and my mind can’t wander off much. So, no bad reviews there, other than a little itch on my nose bridge for wearing the 3D glasses for 1 hour and 55 minutes. I SO want to go watch this movie again – even if it’s not free next time.
P/S : Don’t get up too soon once the credits are up. There’s a surprise at the end of the credits! Thank you Nuffnang for the premiere screening tickets.
Thor will be in Malaysian cinemas by 28th April 2011.
Movie Rating : 8/10

hi
chop before spying for real lol!
LOL LJ yummy man hahahaha i think LJ likey him :p:p
hahah Bill!
Just to let you know thor isn't loki's brother. Loki is Odins adopted brother, loki is part giant and is only a god because of Odin. And they forgot that Thor wears a belt that doubles his strenght and wears iron gaunlets to wield his mighty hammer (Miolner). And they are not deities the are the AEsir and Vanir. And the overall asgard look is good but doesnt fit how it is depicted in stories, because there is no great wall protecting Asgard or no rainbow bridge (Bifrost) connecting Asgard the world of gods to Midgard the world of men (also known as earth).

Hi Vegtam the wanderer!
Yup, as I said in my post, Loki does not look like Thor or Odin or Odin's wife. It's for my readers to read between the lines and try to understand themselves or better still, go watch the movie to see what I mean. Of course he's not the real son but in the movie Odin did many times try to convince Loki that he is his son and that he's not at all like the Frost Giants.
Yeah, sadly they didn't portray Thor as he should according to the comics/myth. My post is according to the movie dear, since this is a review, which is why I use the word "deities" because that's the word used in the movie. And well, I guess this is how the Director envisioned Asgard and making the rainbow bridge somewhat like a Star Trek transporting thingy instead. Oh well, all in all, it is still a good movie. Don't you agree?

Hey Bella!!!
FINALLY i can read your movie review!!
heheheheh forgive me it took so long. I am just one person who doesn't handle spoilers really well. I once had a falling out with a blogger 'coz she let loose a spoiler on my blog and ruined it for me and my readers (in the comment section).
So anyways, yeah.. I loved the movie.. the CGI was pretty good except during parts when Thor was taking flight! LOL!
It looked kinda meh but it was forgivable. I loved everything about it. The humour, the cast, the modern take of Thor..!!
It's a movie that I will definitely go for a second round.
And yes, like all MARVEL films, you just have GOT to wait for the end!
Even though no one told me to, I'm glad I waited it out and caught it.
Marvel never disappoints!
Like a boss — Thor going into Pet Palace and saying "I NEED A HORSE!!" Great movie!!
